Norman Clare Butorac “Boots” passed to join his wife, Jean Callin Butorac, of 64 years on September 4, 2020. Norman was preceded in death by his father Joseph John Butorac, his mother Verna Estelle Butorac, his five siblings and grandson Lance William Furney. He leaves behind three children, Judith Ann Butorac (Radford Lynch), Barbara Jean Butorac, and Matthew Joseph Butorac (Meribeth). Five grandchildren, Harmony Lee White (Darrin), Bryan Joseph Jones, Jamie Margaret Furney, Valerie Jean Brown and Aaron Matthew Butorac (Laura).
Four great-grandchildren, Zachary Norman Jones, McKenzie Jean Jones, Braxton William White and Caden Asher White.
Norman was born in Canon City, Colorado on July 22, 1931 where he graduated from The Abbey High School. In 1950 he joined the Navy and was stationed on the USS James C. Owens Destroyer for 4 years. During this time he went around the world twice and saw a lot of the world. Upon returning to Canon City he met and married Jean on June 11, 1955. They moved to Pueblo, had three children and he retired from the CF&I after 30 years of working as a Boilermaker. After retiring, he did the maintenance of the mini storages that he and his family owned on Pueblo Boulevard. He and Jean traveled around the United States in their camper and went to several annual navy reunions. Norman had a wonderful life. It was an honor to call him son, husband, father or friend.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Imperial Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m. If you would like a chair, please feel free to bring your own.
