Matthew Lopez, 95, born April 20, 1929 to parents Cosme and Apolonia Lopez, passed away, April 27, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Born in La Junta, Colorado, Matthew attended La Junta High School and after graduating he married the love of his life Rebecca, with whom he shared 74 loving years. Matthew started working for the US. Postal Service as a Customer Service Clerk and dedicated thirty-five years of service to before retiring. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Meadows Parish and in his spare time he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness and love for his family.
Matthew is survived by his wife Rebecca; children, Francie (Jerry) Rodgers and Edward (Debi Partridge) Lopez; Grandchildren, Alicia (Lawrence) Kelton, Matthew (Ashley) Lopez, Stacey Rodgers, Marisa (Ben) Howarth, Tayler (Sage) Lopez and Tessa (Daren) Wise; Great Grandchildren, Daylon (DJ) Storey, Ryan Howarth, Liam Howarth, Tenley Howarth, Cael Howarth, Avalon Lopez, Ellie Lopez, Edward Matthew (Trey) Lopez III, and Aurora Kelton. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and family.
