Mary married Earl Hood in 1953, and from that marriage, she is survived by children Lynn Hood, Toni Kittinger (Jerry), and Craig Hood (Melanie).
In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Bradley, Jennifer, Brittney, Jake, Andrew, Shelbi, and 6 great grandchildren.
She has 4 surviving sisters: Barbara, Alice, Jane, and Marge.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and sisters Beryl and Bea.
Mary fought a courageous battle with numerous serious health issues for 4 decades.
Her children commonly referred to her as the “Energizer Bunny”.
Mary’s greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as the multitude of children she while teaching at Vineland Elementary. It should be noted that she worked for nearly 30 years with her teaching partner and friend Mike Granato.
In honor of Mary’s long-lived and courageous battle, it is respectfully asked that those attending her services wear something pink in honor of our Mom and Breast Cancer awareness.
Service to be held on Nov. 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
