Marjorie Louise Porter, 94, passed away on December 13, 2018. She was born August 13, 1924 to Michael and Josephine Hoffmann. Marjorie was a devoted wife for 61 years to her husband, Marvin, who died in 2010. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and one great grandchild. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her six children; daughters, Nancy (Ed) Sanchez, Patty (Steve) Stiesmeyer, Margie (Pat) Mason, Betsy Porter; sons, Mike (Deb) Porter, Bill (Karen) Porter; 19 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; extended family members and friends; as well as all of her four-legged companions. As a lifelong resident of Pueblo, Marjorie was an active member of St. Patrick’s Parish until it closed. Marjorie was fondly known to so many as “Ma Porter”. She was an amazing cook, always adding one more plate to the table. If she wasn’t cooking, she was wrapping a present in a unique and creative manner. Every birthday and holiday was made special by her gifts, cards, and decorations. Her love for Christmas was reflected in her beautiful trees, her nativity, and her Christmas Eve celebrations. As a dedicated mother, Marjorie supported all of her kids’ athletic competitions. Three generations are now avid Notre Dame fans, as a result of her and our dad’s direct influence. Marjorie’s hobbies included gardening, most especially her roses, bowling, numerous card games, and yes occasional trips to Vegas, Cripple Creek, and Blackhawk. Marjorie will most be remembered for her unfailing faith. Her legacy to her children is her sense of humor, having taught all of us to laugh, even in the most difficult times. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bonaventure Assisted Living and the Joni Fair Hospice House. In lieu of food and flowers, please make memorial contributions to Joni Fair Hospice House, PAWS for Life, or the charity of your choice. Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018.
