Lorenza Zamarripa, 87, will be welcomed to Heaven by her parents Pablo Pedroza Huerta and Maria Trinidad Huerta; sister Anita Huerta Martinez; cousin Jess Huerta; and brother in-law Paul Hernandez. Survived by her husband John E Zamarripa; sister Apolonia (John B) Martinez; daughters Jackie Hernandez Berardini, J.D., Janet (Tim) Wilhelm; sons John Paul (Leighann) Zamarripa, Jeffrey Loran Zamarripa, M.D. (Lynn Lancaster); grandchildren Christopher (Stephanie) Soliz, Erica (Adam) Jostes, Pharm.D., Michael (Mindy) Berardini, Molly Wilhelm (Heidi Lantry), Alex Trujillo; great grandchildren Payton Soliz, Samuel Soliz, Jacob Jostes; nieces and nephews Jerry Martinez, Donna Martinez, Sandra Martinez, Clarice Martinez (Tim Porter). Our beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend graced our lives with her love, respect and dignity. She was born in Pueblo and graduated from Florence High School in 1948. Lorenza was a charter member and officer of the Cameo Club, a women’s service organization for 30 years. She was an active member and officer of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary #145 and the Southern Colorado Social Club, and loved going to Cripple Creek! She prayed for us as a member and officer of the Daughters of the King, the Nocturnal Adoration Society, Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and an active member of Our Lady of the Meadows Church. Lorenza always had time and room in her heart for family and friends and kept in touch with all of us in person and on Facebook or by emailing and texting. Our “energizer bunny” never slowed down until her maker called her home. We will miss her, may she rest in peace. Viewing 3:30-6pm, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Imperial funeral home. Rosary Recitation, 9:30am followed by Funeral Mass at 10am, Friday, April 7, 2017, Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Imperial Cemetery. Donations can be made to Cameo Club Scholarship Fund.
