July 27, 1947- February 1, 2022
Survived by son Michael Nelson, daughter Patricia "Patty" Nelson, Sister Patty Sharkey, special cousin Debbie Davis, Nephew Alex Sharkey and Alexis Bean, extended nieces and nephews, Kristy, Scott, and Kurt. along with numerous adopted Grandbabies that she cherished so much and by long time best friends Sharon Pobst, Shirley Donachy and Kathy Hicks.
Linda was preceded in death by her mom and dad Marie and James O'Connor. Close Family friend/mom Lori Hebert and friend Ann Shumk.
Linda worked as a Supervisor Social Worker for the Pueblo County Social Service department for over 35 years before she retired. Along the way she touched many lives throughout her time, in particular Diana Rael, who Linda treated as one of her own. Along with Steven Ashby and Mike McKee.
Linda was the type that always saw the beauty in everyone, no matter what the story was. She always kept her door open for anyone that needed a warm place for sleep, making sure there were always fresh sheets on the bed. She had a special space in her heart for all of God's Creatures as well. There was never a time an animal went without food and to be told how beautiful they are. Her peace and comfort was relaxing at home with rescue fur babies, enjoying a diet pepsi, eating an old fashioned cake donut, reading her magazines or playing solitaire on the computer.
Mom lived a simple caring life all the way through. Anyone who had the chance to sit with her and enjoy her laugh, her smile or her pep talks telling you "It's going to be ok" are truly blessed. We must continue the Linda traits with listening, paying it forward and also not second guessing giving someone a dollar on any corner.
