Juanita was born December 24, 1926, to Elmer and Margaret Nichols in Pueblo Colorado, at Parkview Hospital. She passed away March 13, 2024. She attended Bessemer Grade School, Keating Jr. High, Central High School, (where she received 58 out of 64 possible A’s) and attended the University of Denver School of Business Administration. Her attendance at DU was on full four year scholarship. She married Edward D. Flanigan, and they together had three children, Patrick (Merrill-Lee), Michael (Susan Ducat), and Katherine Bair (ex Stephen). Together they were business owners for many years, both in two-way radio and offset printing. Her grandchildren, Brit Crezee (Kyle), Amy Flanigan Zadra (Michael),Lucas Bair (Terra) and Megan Roberts ( Sheldon ). Great grandchildren Include Ryder and Griffin Crezee, Elliana Flanigan Zadra, Nathan Bair, Justice Murray, and Zadrian A. Roberts. Her husband, Edward and son Michael preceded her in death. Her studies during her lifetime were business administration, piano, tap dance (Anita McCoy’s Studio), master gardening, and languages, all of which she became very accomplished. Her life also included sailing, raising Paso Fino horses, and traveling. They lived in Denver, Canon City, Wetmore, and then came back full circle to Pueblo. Her volunteer work included the Pueblo Symphony, and SRDA. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, neighbors and caregivers, as she was a cherished matriarch of this family. She passed from complications of a fall, and was in Hospice surrounded by her family for five days. A special thanks goes out to all the family who helped her stay in her home till the age of 97, including her caregivers Bertha and Terry.
