Josephine Saucedo (81), a beautiful, loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born November 9, 1929, in Alamo, Colorado to parents, Arsenio (Arthur) and Madalena Sanchez, she was raised in Walsenburg until moving to Gallup, NM, at age 17. She worked as a Harvey Girl (only the prettiest became a Harvey Girl) until getting married to Miguel (Mike) Saucedo on December 29, 1947. Josephine and Mike moved to Walsenburg, Colo., shortly after their wedding; and in 1948, they moved to Pueblo. The proudest moments in her journey of life were being a devoted and loving wife of 63 years to Mike, and giving life to and “raising my babies”. Josephine’s greatest gift was her compassion to help others non-judgmentally and unselfishly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and those whose lives were touched by her. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her four children, Gerry Cacciatore of Aurora, Colo., Mike Saucedo Jr. of Pueblo West, Colo., Luis Saucedo of Centennial, Colo. and Darlene (Al) Saucedo-Breiner, Centennial, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Saucedo of Canon City, Colo; nine grandchildren, Lisa Cacciatore, Gina Cacciatore, Casper Cacciatore, Melissa (Matt) Saucedo-Devine, Michael (April) Saucedo, Nick (Shawna) Mihelich, Michelle Yett-Saucedo, Andrea Cunningham, Alex Cunningham; and five great-grandchildren, Mason Saucedo-Devine, Justin Hernandez, Alexus Tippett-Moore, Taylor Cacciatore and Erriana Guster; sister, Doris Flores of Pueblo; sisters-in-laws, Priscilla Sanchez of Denver, Maria (Sabie) Tafoya of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Irma Saucedo of San Antonio, Texas; and brother-in-law, Gene Coe of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Sanchez of Denver, Colo.; and sister, Francis Coe of California. Donations in her honor may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of Pueblo. Rosary, 6:30 pm, Sunday, April 3, 2011; and Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Monday, April 4, 2011, both at the Shrine of St. Therese. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. On-line condolences may be made at www.adrian-comer.com. Arrangements by Adrian Comer Garden Chapel.
