Josephine Marie Giarratano

Josephine Marie Giarratano, beloved mother and wife, 91 years young, passed away peacefully on September 1. 2021. Surrounded by her children, and beautifully welcomed into heaven by the love of her life Michael, “Mickey” Giarratano who preceded her in death on October 28, 2018. Josie was born on November 30, 1929, to Joseph Martinelli, and Mary Pullaro DeMarco (Russell DeMarco). Josephine is survived by her four children, Joseph(Brenda), Mike (Melissa), Marianne (Scotty), Nino (Brenda), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Josephine worked for School District 60 as a secretary, mostly she worked endlessly as a mom, grandmother and great grandmother, teaching all about love and cooking. She will be dearly missed by all. Thank you to all loving care givers, doctor’s nurses and health care Heroes who have helped mom on this journey. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday September 7th at St Joseph Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. A reception will be held following interment at The Carriage House.
