John B. Martinez, 87, lived his “DASH” June 24, 1927 - May 30, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr., (Lucy C.) Martinez; brothers, Charles Jr., Mark and Raymond; grandsons, Joseph M. Gallegos and Billy Olivarri. John worked in the Rail Finishing Dept. at CF&I and retired after 43 years of service. He was a union advocate and instilled a strong work ethic in his 6 daughters who survive him: Charlotte (Joe E.) Gallegos, Maryjane (Bill) Latham, Janice (Howard) Pacheco, Joyce Dalton, Johanna (Terry) Olivarri, and Jackie (Jack) Dennison; also survived by the mother of his children, Nancy (Larry) Ortivez; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandson and Daisy Martinez. A special thank you to Sangre de Cristo Hospice: Kathy, Chris, Jessica, Irene, and the entire staff for their kindness and care they gave our dad.
