Jo Anne King was born in Chicago, IL on August 9, 1936. She passed away on June 14, 2017 in her home surrounded by her children and loving husband in Beulah, CO. She is survived by her husband Benn Stanley King, of 43 years, Thomas Meyers, her brother, children; Bill (Shari) Schafer, Cheryl (Roger) Cottingham, Laura (Randy) Reith, Diane (Mark) Weber, Jim (Kim) Schafer, Robbie Klarer, Stephanie King, Roy (Tonya) King, Melissa King and two adopted children Dayle King, and Tiva King. Nephew Vic (Kelly) Meyers. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jo Anne’s entire life was focused on helping others, accompanied by Stan they opened their home to over 250 foster children, recovering alcoholics and drug addicts helping with their road to recovery. They also opened Jeremiah Junction, in downtown Pueblo, providing a safe place to gather for activities, counseling and an after school program to keep adolescents and teenagers occupied. She continued to minister at her church, Trinity Life Center whether it was counseling young women or her ministry in the kitchen.
Responding to the call from her Lord and Saviour, Jo Anne’s entire life was a ministry to others, even as she was crossing over to eternity , she continued to witness and bring others to Christ. Her beautiful spirit will be missed and cherished in the lives that she touched.
Service will be Saturday, June 24, at 10 am at Trinity Life Center, 36 Merritt Ct. Pueblo, CO.
