James Samuel Mastrini, 83, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Geraldine Mastrini. Survived by children, Jamie (Steve) Johannsen, Renee (James) Risoli, Andrea (Mark) Glaeser; grandchildren, Janae (Jesse) Gribble, Derek (Hallie) Risoli, Ali & Kristin Glaeser, & Grant Johannsen; great-grandchildren, Owen & Kade Gribble; sibling John Mastrini & sister-in-law Margaret Mastrini, numerous relatives & lifelong friends. Preceded in death by parents, John & Mary Mastrini; brothers Frank, Charles, & George Mastrini; & sisters, Adeline DiDomenico, Beatrice Rovelli, Josephine Mastrini, & Louise Barovich.
Jim was born in Pueblo, Colorado on June 15, 1940. He was the baby of nine siblings! He was a Pueblo native & most proud of being raised on Goat Hill. He was a two sport athlete in football & baseball at Centennial High School from 1955-1958. He was inducted into the Centennial Hall of Fame & Pueblo Sports Hall of Fame. He received scholarship offers in football to the University of Wyoming & Southern Colorado State College. Jim also received an offer to play professional baseball in Kansas City. He declined all offers to stay home & marry the love of his life. Jim was a distinguished Prudential Insurance Agent & District Manager for 25 years. He received many recognitions & awards in the field of insurance. He served on the Runyon Field Board for 18 years & Blende Mesa Water District for 38 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy & the Knights of Columbus. He was a partner & owner in Mesa Plaza Inc. & Triple Crown Sales Group. Jim was a devoted husband who valued family more than anything else. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Sunday dinners, spending time at his family cabin in San Isabel, & traveling with lifetime friends Johnny & Teddi Langoni were treasured memories. His furry friend Vino was his sidekick and sports watching buddy. Jim lived life to the fullest and will forever live in our hearts.
