February 8, 1924 – April 9, 2025, Helen had a long life of 101 years.
Helen was born in Kendallville, Indiana. Her parents were John and Edith (Rauh) Herberger.
After graduating from Kendallville High School, she attended Indiana University. While there, she met her future husband John T. Hudson. They continued their education at Ball State Teachers College (Ball State University) in Muncie Indiana. She completed a Master of Arts in Education Degree in 1950. The Hudsons moved to Falls City, Nebraska, then moved to Pueblo, Colorado.
She retired from School District 60 after a long career as a speech therapist. The Hudsons operated a cattle ranch near Beulah Colorado. The Hudsons were active in 4-H for many years, as well as the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union. In 1993 they retired from ranching.
She is survived by 2 children, Gloria (Gary) Powell and David (Rhea) Hudson, a grandson Jake (Brenda) Powell and 2 great-grandchildren Penelope and Henry.
A memorial service will be held in the Villa Pueblo penthouse May 2, 2025 between 1:30 and 3:30 PM.
