Helen Louise Gomez, 91, went to be with the Lord Nov. 18, 2010 in Pueblo, CO. Born March 19, 1919 in Davenport, Iowa. Preceded in death by her husband, Desiderio P. Gomez; parents, Peder M. and Agnes (Nord) Darell; sister, Rose M. Ryan; brother-in-law, William Ryan; and sister-in-law, Pat Darell. She is survived by her children, Louise (George) Baca, Pueblo, CO, and Elwood T. Ducott, Jr., Paramount, CA; brother, Alfred Darell, Davenport, Iowa; special nieces, Charlene (Charles) Roenfeldt, Blue Grass, Iowa, and Nicole Prestipino, Denver, CO; step-grandson, Kenneth R. Baca, Pueblo, CO; four great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Also survived by special family friends, Betty Ann (Brian Gravatt) Massino; Barby (Dalton Frederiksen) Secora; Connie Medina; and Mary Ann Salazar; numerous nieces, nephews, and several cousins in Norway. She was very proud of her short stint in the US Navy during World War II. She loved dancing, playing the organ and crocheting. Memorial Service, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Adrian Comer Garden Chapel, 2710 N. Elizabeth St., with inurnment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. Memorials in her name may be made to the Animal and Welfare Protection Society, 3420 W. 8th. St., Pueblo, 81003.
