Gloria was class valedictorian as a graduate of Pueblo Catholic High School. She was married to Raymond Scott for 25 years. In 1972, she married Verle Steele. Gloria was a sports enthusiast, but especially loved bowling, the Rockies and the Broncos. She had a life-long love for animals and treasured all of the pets she had over the years. Gloria was a strong but gentle woman who was loved by many. She was a woman of faith and her priorities were her home and her family. She loved without condition, forgave easily, and never failed to end each conversation or visit with a hug and an, “I love you.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Raymond Scott, brother Roy J. Sirhal, son Gary Steele, granddaughters Cassandra and Trayce Zabukovic, and grandson Chris Mitchell.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Verle Steele, children Mike (Jean) Scott, Janet Zabukovic, Kathy (Pete) Sloan, Randy (Liz) Scott, and Becky (Ron) Timme, sister Sharon (Gary) Thompson, brother Duane (Sandy) Sirhal, sister-in-law Faye (Bob) Belt, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs, Jack and Jill.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, June 20 at Imperial Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 21, at the Imperial Gardens Chapel. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to PAWS for Life in Pueblo, Colorado.
