

Gilbert A. Lucero Sr., 91, passed away March 22, 2023 in Pueblo, CO. He was married to Sarah Lucero, with whom he shared seventy-two loving years of marriage. Born in Wiley, CO to Librado and Domatila Lucero on December 7, 1931. He joined the United States Army in 1952 and spent time in Korea where he obtained a Korean Service Medal for his service.
Gilbert worked for CF&I as a Coke Plant Operator and Supervisor for 29 years. After retiring from CF&I, he continued working at the Pueblo Reservoir and started his own lawn business. He enjoyed walking, watching sports & WWF wrestling. He belonged to Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church for several years. Gilbert was a man of few words but those who knew him say he was sincere in his heart, a hard worker, compassionate, a good provider and loved his wife and family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Survived to carry on his memory, his loving wife Sarah Lucero, children; Gloria Leavy, Delores (Frank) Lopez, Gilbert (Judy) Lucero, Jr., David Lucero and Monica Lucero.Grandchildren; Brian Lopez, Michael Lopez, Gilbert Lucero III and Amanda Greenacre. Great grandchildren; Layla Lopez, Lily Lopez, Jordan Lucero, Marcus Lucero and Lucy Greenacre. Siblings; Connie (John) Tracy, Betty (Dave) Turner, Irene (John) Trujillo, Ruth (Eppie) Martinez, Janet (Don) Reigh, Gary Lucero, Beverly (Daniel) Hernandez; Sisters in Law; Anita (Lucero) Gonzalez and Doris Lucero.

A visitation for Gilbert A. will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church, 23 Starling Drive, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. A funeral mass to follow at 10:00 AM. The interment following service will occur Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
