This is to celebrate the life of a husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and even a second dad to some. Gerald (Jerry) Arthur McNeil, who God gave us on June 24, 1947; and whom God took home on November 7, 2017. Jerry was a man of many talents. He knew how to play drums like no other could. He could boat and fish; and taught so many of us how to do the same. He worked hard his whole life to provide. He went out of his way to help others. He could make good out of bad. He is loved very much, and will truly be missed. But to my dad goodbyes are not forever. For one day you will lead us all through the wonderful Gates of Heaven. So for now we will celebrate and remember all of the wonders of your life, and hold them close to our hearts and souls. WE LOVE YOU!
He is preceded in death by his sister, Pat Crocker, and survived by his wife, Lola; two daughters, Malinda (Bill) and Margaret (Jonathan); his grandkids, Eric (Chelsea), Kayla (Dustin), Cody, Travis and Michael, Jr.; and one great-grandson, Eric, Jr.
Daddy this is from your daughter Margaret;
This morning that light at the end of the tunnel was on my mind. Guess I know now why, as my father followed that light this morning and is no longer with us. You will always be the best papa bear to your grandsons and granddaughter.
This is from Kayla;
With the gift of life come the burden of death. However, in life there are hardships but in death there is peace. I hope you found your peace in heaven grandpa. The only thing I regret is not seeing you enough. I love you and may you rest in peace. I will see you again someday.
This is from Eric;
Today I said goodbye to the best grandpa, drummer, and fisherman anyone could have ever asked for. I will miss you very much and we will see you again. Until then please keep an eye on all of us. RIP Grandpa
