Ann Allison Leach passed away on October 12, 2016, in Pueblo. Ann was born to John and Marn Allison on August 14, 1923, in Redlands, CA. Ann was raised in McPherson, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University in 1945. After graduation, Ann was working at the University as an instructor when she met and later married Richard Leach of Pueblo, on December 28, 1947. And so they began their life of 57 years together. In the early years of their marriage, Ann was a homemaker and mother to their 4 sons. She received her real estate brokers license in 1974, and joined her husband in his real estate business, The Leach Company. Ann was very involved in the community, serving on the PTA’s of both school District 60 and 70, and was president of the District 70 PTA. Ann was president of the Pueblo Girls Club Board of Directors, and president of the Service League. She was also president of the Pueblo chapter of the American Cancer Society, a board member for the United Way, and served as president and board member for the Pueblo Association of Realtors. She served on the advisory board for KTSC Public Television, and the advisory board for SCSC (now CSU – Pueblo) Business College. Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pueblo, Wednesday Morning Club, Tuesday Luncheon Club, P.E.O. and Pi Phi. She served as president of the Primrose Residents Council, and was named the 2016 Silver Queen at the Colorado State Fair. Ann was a loving, caring, and very active person who was liked and respected by all that knew her. Her easy smile, quick wit and kind words were welcoming to all that she met. Ann lived life to the fullest and was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed art, painting, music, travel and was an avid reader, but most of all, she enjoyed people. Ann published two books; one, a book of poetry about the aging process, and a second book for children, about farm animals. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Frances Weaver and Mary Marn Allison. Ann is survived by one sister, Middy Divelbiss, of Colorado Springs, and four sons; John Leach (Kathy) of Beulah, Rick Leach (Cindy), Pat Leach (Mary), and Bob Leach (Karen), all of Pueblo. Ann is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Primrose Retirement Community, for being great friends, and providing Ann with such a warm community in which to live. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Parkview Hospital for the excellent and professional care shown to Ann. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, on Saturday, November 19, at the Adrian Comer Garden Chapel.
