Donald was born on April 5, 1935, in Pueblo, Colorado to Frank and Sophie Sabo.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Joann C. Sabo, his parents, sister Lorraine (Nick) Gemma, and twin brothers Peter (Helen) Sabo and Paul (Barbara) Sabo. He is survived by his four children Dona Anderson, Leane Sabo, Julie Sabo, and Carla (Mark) Halvorson, two grandchildren Steven Anderson and Cindy (Justin) Daniels, and four great grandchildren Parker and Ethan Daniels (twins), Blaze Anderson, and Erik Halvorson.
Don graduated from Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado. He married Joann Larson on September 29, 1955. He served in the U.S. Airforce for 4 years. After leaving the Airforce, he became an Aircraft Mechanic and Inspector for several airlines throughout his career and retired in 2002.
Don loved fishing, camping, family vacations, his pets, casino playing, and word search puzzles, but his main love was his family. In addition to being a great family man, he was a very kind and loving person who had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others.
When he was able, he volunteered at St. Peter’s Church, mowing the yard, fixing the sprinkler system, and always available whenever asked.
