On Monday, November 6, 2023, Dewey “Howdy” Lee Townsell, 76, went home to be with our Lord. Reunited with Dovie, the mother he never knew, and Clyde, his surrogate mother, he finally has the answers and the peace he struggled to find in life. Despite a life filled with adversity and trauma, from early childhood tragedy to Vietnam and his subsequent battles with alcohol and PTSD, he was still full of love and generosity. He will be remembered for his big heart, compassion, and generosity.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” – John 14:27 ESV
