Daryl James Wilkins

Daryl James Wilkins, age 62, passed away on October 27, 2021. He was born in April of 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Juanita Wilkins. And 2 older brothers, Charles Don and Michael David. Daryl grew up in Pueblo and attended St. Leanders Parochial School and East High School. In 1975 he moved to the Canal Zone in Panama with his family where he completed the 10th grade and then went on to achieve a GED. In 1977 he returned to Colorado, and then relocated to Amarillo Texas where he worked at a large meat packing plant. Upon his return to Colorado he worked at various wholesale and retail meat packing plants as a butcher. He was particularly proud of the years he spent at Stillman Meats in Denver Colorado. He returned to Pueblo in 2002 working for Walmart. During his time at Walmart, he was promoted to Assistant Manager. He continued working at Walmart until his illness prevented him from working. Daryl was a fun loving happy guy who made friends easily. He enjoyed all sporting events, watching old western movies, and listening to music. And a special enjoyment of a house full of company. He is survived by his sister, Debra (Norman) Everhart; Brother, Kenneth Dean Wilkins; Great aunt, Mary Enyeart; Uncle, Gilbert; Aunt, Evelyn Wilkins; Two nieces, Deanna Hollenkamp and Carrie Wilkins; Cousins, Salvador Sanders, Cherrie Liedigh, Don and Eileen Medina, and several other cousins; Also survived by his good friend and buddy, Andrew Blakenship; Two very special neighbors and numerous friends. A celebration of life for Daryl will take place at La Tronica's Restaurant on November 10, 2021 from 4-6pm. 1143 E Abriendo Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004.
