Daniel Ray Brown, 70, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2025.
Born on August 11, 1954, Dan lived a life defined by love, hard work, and creativity. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Janet Muzzio Brown; his sister, Diana Johnson (Ed); nephew Craig Johnson (Joanie); and sister-in-law, Judy Henriksen (Tom). He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Anna Brown, in-laws John and Elizabeth Muzzio, brother-in-law Robert Lee Muzzio and nephew Robby Henriksen.
Dan was a proud Journeyman Electrician and a member of the IBEW. He spent his career with Inphase Electric and Main Electric before retiring.
An avid outdoorsman, Dan found joy in fishing, camping, hunting, and cooking. But perhaps his greatest joy was the 11-acre paradise he created with Janet in Pueblo West. More than three decades ago, Dan began building their beautiful brick ranch home—largely with his own hands and the help of close family and friends. Over time, he added a pole barn to house the many projects and passions that defined his life: raising chickens, keeping bees, exploring hydroponics and solar power, and dreaming up all sorts of inventions. Dan was always busy—usually with a faithful dog by his side.
To know Dan was to know someone truly one of a kind. He had a generous spirit, a unique way of expressing himself, and an infectious laugh and smile that lit up any room. He would do anything for anyone and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and deep love.
A memorial to celebrate Dan’s life will be held at a later date. We hope you'll join us to share stories, photos, and memories of a man who meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, Janet kindly requests that donations be made in Dan’s memory to PAWS.
