Dalton H. Gross, 88, passed away October 4, 2024. He was born September 13, 1936 to Everett and Laura Mary Gross in Iowa.
Dalton received his PhD. in English from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He was a Professor of English for 38 years at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. He taught British and American Literature. He was an avid reader, and once had a personal library of 10,000 books
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Everett Gross, his sister Carol, and his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Jean Gross. He is survived by his son Nick Gross.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 2pm at Imperial Funeral Home.
