On May 28, 1929, Bonnie Alice Fraker was born to Elsie and Monte Fraker in Cheyenne, Wy. Bonnie was the second child in the family of five girls and one boy. Her step-mother Lucy, stepped into her life later and assumed the role of mother to Bonnie and her siblings. Bonnie attended high school at Centennial High in Pueblo Co. She married Don Koenig (deceased) in September 1951. Bonnie would become a ranch wife and mother to 4 children, Hal Koenig (Deb Koenig) Bayfield Co., John Koenig (Sharyn Koenig, deceased) Palmetto Bay Fl, Ann Koenig (deceased) and Beth Koenig-Crews (deceased). She was grandmother to 4 beautiful grandchildren, Brent Koenig, Midland, TX., Mikey Waggoner (Nolan), Bend OR., Ellery Crews, TN and Shiloh Crews, Pueblo, Co. Bonnie was also a great grandmother.
Bonnie dedicated her life to her family and to being a host to hundreds of families and guests at the Don K Guest Ranch west of Pueblo. After retiring from the ranch, she would volunteer at Parkview hospital for 21 years where she worked in admissions, senior health insurance counseling and in other clerical roles as needed by the hospital.
Bonnie got her pass through the gates of heaven on May 22, 2022. She is survived by her sons Hal and John Koenig, her sister Mary Pettit and brother Tom Fraker, her niece Ann Lou White who seldom left her side and helped care for her in her final years.
A celebration of life will be held June 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at TG McCarthy, 329 Goodnight Ave, Pueblo, Co. The service will live stream on TG McCarthy’s Facebook Page.
