I would like to THANK THE GOOD LORD ABOVE for giving me the GREATEST BLESSING of having my GRANDMA for as long as I did. She was a REMARKABLE LADY and I miss her so much.

My mother, Estelle Myers, was Anna's teacher at the foot of the Spanish Peaks when Anna was quite young and my mother wasn't much older. As a friend of my mother's, I only knew Anna from a distance for a number of years. Upon my mother's passing, my dad and Anna became very good friends, maintaining a caring, respectful relationship for eleven years. I learned a lot from their friendship; she was with my dad when he died, along with my daughter. And in the time since my father's death, Anna has continued to be a part of our lives and thoughts. My grown children and grandchildren came to love Anna as I have; one daughter has collected a number of wise statements that we've heard Anna say from time to time; we call them "Annaisms". A favorite is "You can only do what you can do." Simple, but a valuable thought. We noted that Anna never said anything directly negative about anyone -- but if she ventured in such a negative tone, she'd first qualify her statement first with -- "God bless her; she can't cook." or "God bless her; she can't keep house." We came to love such "Annaisms" and have elected to use the format before criticizing people. My dad and Anna ate together almost every night and we loved her cooking and she loved my dad's. They'd call one another every morning to check on each other. Initially I didn't like their friendship, but they were both so respectful of their deceased spouses, one couldn't dismiss their wonderful relationship. Anna loved the Mil Stop sapodillas with honey, and Rosario's salads with "extra" blue cheese crumbles. She had a quiet, but good sense of humor. Without question, Anna enhanced our family's lives and we'll never forget her lovely manner and her honest thoughts. She knew how to "read" people's true intentions; she was a great gal. We appreciate Anna's family sharing her with our family; she enhanced our lives.

My fondest memories of Annie were when I was in my childhood. Although she was a cousin, she was Aunt Annie to me. My memories of her always included Uncle Ed. I would be so excited when they came to visit us. They always picked me up to take me on trips to the mountains, Antonito, over the old La Veta Pass to Trinidad. Part of the excitement was because my bestest buddy, Rosann was my partner in crime. Probably the best present ever came from Aunt Annie and Uncle Ed. They brought me an old beat up bike from the ranch. My dad straightened out the frame, pedals, spokes and seat. Since I didn't have much, this was the most awesome present I ever received. Aunt Annie is enjoying the wonders of heaven and reunited with her baby twins, husband, mother and other loved ones. God blessed her with a good life while she was here on earth.

Even later in life I would see her on Memorial Day  at the Andreatta graves  she always knew me .
