Alicia C. Martinez, 94, of Greeley, CO, was peacefully called into eternal life with Our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 26, 2015. Alicia was born in Ocate, New Mexico on June 12, 1921. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benjamin E Martinez, whom she married on Nov. 8, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista, CO. She was also preceded by son, Benjamin E Martinez, Jr, granddaughter, LaVonne, grandson, Nicholas, great-grandson, baby Christopher, her parents, Euphrusine and Salomon Espinosa, her Aunt, Sister Bertina Espinosa, Community of Our Lady of Victory Noll, several of her siblings, extended family members and friends. She was a woman of strong, Catholic faith. Alicia was a longtime resident of Pueblo and member of the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, for many years. She was a member of the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament, Nocturnal Adoration Society, member of the Blue Army, had a strong devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary, in addition to many patron saints, especially to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and to the Divine Mercy. She never missed an opportunity to visit El Santuario in Chimayo, New Mexico. She is survived by John (Theresa) Pueblo, Frank (Martha), Littleton, Eppie (Ruth), Henderson, Alice (Bill), Greeley, Gerard (Sharon), Aurora, Ramona (Anthony), Pueblo, daughter-in-law, Jane, 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her such great pride and joy, brother, John Espinosa and sister, Mary Grimes. Alicia was an exceptional cook, loved to bake, embroider, and crochet. She loved the annual family camping trips, especially traveling in her motorhome with her beloved husband. Viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. both at T.G. McCarthy Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, and Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Shrine of St. Therese. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
