Albert Sam Valdez

Albert “Sam” Valdez, 81, passed away May 21, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents, Joseph and Mary Valdez; in-laws, Carl and Mary Geanetta; brothers, Joe, Fred, Ruben Valdez; sister, Alberta Vega; brothers-in-law, Sam Geanetta and Richard Anaya; sister-in-law, Helen Geanetta; daughter-in-law, Lori Valdez. He is survived by his children, Rick (Diana) Valdez, Sam (Janice) Valdez, Carl Valdez, Pam (Carl) Scarafiotti, Mary (Elmer) Edwards and Jimmy Valdez; brother, Lawrence Valdez; sisters, Dorothy Anaya and Charlotte (Jeff) Bailey; sister-in-law, Grace Hoff; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Sam served during the Korean War in the US Navy. He retired after a long career with the Dept. of Defense in Pueblo, CO, Mannheim, Germany and Chambersburg, PA. Sam was a member of the Eagles #145, VFW in Chamberburg, PA, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #2; and was one of the founding members of the ROMEO Club. Viewing will be 2-6 p.m., Thursday, followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m., both to be held at TG McCarthy Funeral Home.
