Agnes Josephine Underwood (née Hudson) was born on April 15, 1928 to Harriett E. Coe and Thomas M. Hudson in Pueblo; and passed away on December 22, 2018, the 9th of 10 siblings, all of whom predeceased her. She singlehandedly raised four children while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Adams State College in 1964. She earned her Master of Arts Degree from Adams State in 1973. As a beloved debate coach, she delivered South High School its very first State Championship of any kind. She retired as a guidance counselor from South in 1988, after 24 years of dedicated service to District 60 and changing countless lives by persuading students to finish their education. An avid Broncos fan, Agnes never missed a chance to watch her favorite team play. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Timothy J. Underwood; daughter, Dr. Paula K. Underwood; son-in-law, Dr. Juan G. Jaramillo; granddaughter, Alicia Jaramillo-Underwood; daughter, Mary P. Underwood; son, Brian A. Underwood; daughter-in-law, Diane M. Underwood; and grandson, Reed D. Underwood. The family would like to thank the Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care Center, particularly Vincent Perez, RN, Erin Carver, LSW, and Ranae Pachek, CNA.
