CRANSTON - COLEMAN, Walter K., 90, of Alpine Estates Dr., died Monday at Kent Hospital, after a long heart related illness. He was the husband of the late Winifred G. (Catley) Coleman, to whom he had been married to for 49 years. Born in Providence, and raised in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Frank and Annie (Schaler) Kozubski. He had lived in Cranston for the past 44 years. Mr. Coleman was an executive with the Porter Cable Machine Tool Company, and later with Rockwell Mfg., before he founded the W.K. Coleman Company in 1962. He retired in 1978 to care for his wife. His company still operates today. He was an alumnus of Pawtucket High School and Mt. Hermon Academy, and a graduate of Brown University. He was an officer in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a Radio/Radar/Gunner with a B-25 crew that was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Pawtucket Royal Arch Chapter #4-RSM, and was also a member of the Rhode Island Shriners AAONMS, Cranston. His hobbies included collecting antique clocks and following the sports activities of his grandchildren. Walter enjoyed caring for his family, and later in life, spending summers on Block Island. Those who knew Walter will remember him as a big man, who made a difference in anything or anyone he touched. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. He is survived by his children, Sharon A. Coleman of Newport and Robert L. Coleman of Cranston; his grandchildren, Susan, Lisa, John, and David Coleman, as well as his great grandson Brady all of Cranston. His funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm.
