Virginia E. (Iafrate) Franklin, 67, passed away May 7, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Leroy J. Franklin. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Liberato and Angelina (DeAngelis) Iafrate.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimberly M. DeCosta and her cherished grandson, Matthew. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister from the Gabriele family and two brothers from the Iafrate family.
Visitation Sunday 3-6 p.m. with a funeral on Monday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 175 Mathewson Street, Providence. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care, 275 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10001.
