Vincenza “Vinnie” R. Manfredi, long time Rhode Island resident and formerly of Camille Drive, Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Estero, Florida, where she made her home with her beloved goddaughter, Bunny Feiler and her husband Michael.
Born in Providence on December 17, 1932, Vincenza was a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, where she earned a BS degree in Accounting. She held various positions in that field and spent the last 10 years of her career at the US. Post Office in Providence.
However, Vincenza did not stop working. She was coaxed back to work at a Counseling Center by her dear friend, Father Eric Carbine. During all the years of working and volunteering at various churches, and hospitals, including time at the ACI as a Eucharistic Minister, she was a traveler of epic proportions. There were few places in the world that she didn’t visit. Among her many travels were trips to The Great Wall of China, Tahiti, Europe, and countless car trips all over the United States and Canada. There was no place that Vinnie refused to visit.
Vinnie was a kind and loyal and dear friend to many people, she was a woman of few words but mighty actions, and was always available when someone needed her. She leaves behind so many people who were touched by her kindness and generosity of time. She never refused anyone who asked for her help. She will be remembered as a kind soul who accepted everyone as they were. Rest in Peace Miss Vinnie.
She was the sister of the late Julia Manfredi and Alfonso Manfredi. She was the daughter of the late Frank Manfredi and Generosa (Garafolo) Manfredi. She was the aunt of Frank Manfredi and Brigida Manfredi Johnson, and the great aunt of David Johnson and Marissa Johnson.
Visiting hours and Funeral will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10:00 AM from the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St. Providence, A graveside burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Vinnie loved The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette and often volunteered and attended Mass there.
