Thomas A. Giampietro

Thomas A. Giampietro (Ret. Capt. PFD), passed away August 16, 2014. He was a son of the late Angelo and Mary (Gambuto) Giampietro; husband of Margaret “Stephanie” (Gardner) Giampietro and the late Janina F. (Parzych) Giampietro; father of Susan L. Giampietro and Stephanie J. (Giampietro) Faioli and her husband Richard; step-father of Michael D. Gardner and his wife Merri and Mark D. Gardner and his wife Bethany; grandfather of 6; and brother of Nancy Weintraub and the late Gloria Wilks. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Giampietro was a Providence Fire Fighter for 29 years, retiring as a Captain. He was currently serving as a director and an advisory board member for the Police and Fireman’s Insurance Association. He was also a member of the Providence Fire Fighters Local Union 799, the Police and Fire Fighters Association, the New England Association of Fire Chiefs, and had served in the U.S. Air Force.

Visitation Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Providence Permanent Fireman Relief Association, P.O. Box 28054, Providence, RI 02908.
