Theresa P. McCaffrey

Providence: McCaffrey, Theresa P. (Phillips), 81, of Alma Street, died Wednesday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert F. McCaffrey. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Theresa (Gilchrist) Phillips. Mrs. McCaffrey worked as a Library Associate Specialist in the Rockefeller Library at Brown University for 32 years before retiring in 1997. She was a lifelong Smith Hill resident and a communicant of Saint Patrick Church and a member of the former Word of God Singers .She is survived by three sons, Robert F. McCaffrey of North Kingstown, Richard J. McCaffrey with whom she lived, and Brian P. McCaffrey also of Providence. She also leaves seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. She was a sister of the late Robert and Joseph Phillips. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours, Sunday 4-7pm.
