Shirley Ann Bevilacqua (Gridley) 77, passed away July 8, 2024. Daughter of the late Howard F. and Rita J. (Patnaude) Gridley. Beloved wife of the late Edward E. Bevilacqua. Devoted mom to Paul E. Bevilacqua and his wife Lisa. Cherished grandmother of Rocco Bevilacqua. Sister of Robert and Thomas Gridley, Debra Fortin and Kathy Frechette.
Shirley was an elementary school teacher for most or her career. She was always known to be patient, kind and soft spoken. She enjoyed being around her friends, family and extended family immensely and greatly enjoyed being outside. Her favorite getaway was always the beach and she would stop at nothing to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Never a bad word passed her lips and she had great love for those in her circle. Shirley loved her church and loved to sing at will, to anyone who would lend an ear. Right until her last days, she would sing scales from her hospital bed. She will be dearly missed by her one and only child, Paul, his wife Lisa and her only grandchild, Rocco.
Visitation will be held Saturday, 9 – 10:30am in the Pontarelli-Marino Home 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery Cranston.
