Ryan...
I'm still not ready to say good bye... I love you so much. I know we didn't have as much time as I really wish we did but you will always be *My Favorite Cousin*.. I know we talked quick end of summer/fall but I really was counting on seeing you again. I didn't send that letter because I thought I was going to be able to tell you it all in person... I know you already know everything I was going to write but it's still good to hear it. 

No one is ever going to replace you. You are so incredible. I really hope you know how much I, we all, loved you. Thank you for the great memories we do have.. Thank you for the wonderful people you brought in my life esp. Mandy & Shana. I know you and I were very picky about who we brought around to meet the other one.. I gotta say both girls you "brought home" for me to meet are pretty damn amazing. I know you're watching over us now but (and yes this is selfish of me) I still wish you were able to watch over me here. I know you're finally at peace and for whatever reason God needed you up there now (be sure to show them how to run the court lol) but I don't think anyone down here was remotely ready for you go. I've been trying to stay in my "denial bubble" as long as I can but I know I have to face this sooner than later.. I still don't think I'm ready- but one of the many things I got from you is strength. I know we'll get through this.
I wish you could have seen you the way that I always saw you.. I hope you know how much I love you; how important you are to me; and I know I put and kept you on a pedestal- but that's where you belong to me. Nothing can ever change that.
I just love you so much and I'm sorry I didn't get to see you again.. BUT I was trying to remember when the last time was I did see you and I'm pretty sure it was the beach- that was one hell of a perfect day. I can at least hold on to that and I'm so glad we took pictures so I never have to let that day go. Thank you for many perfect days and nights. You've always been my personal guardian angel and I don't know if I told you (I think I did lol): I like that you have always been my "overprotective" but most importantly my perfect cousin. You always have been and always will be perfect to me.

Ryan knew he wasn't perfect, but he always went out of his way to make others feel special and loved. He had the love of Christ in him and believed in Jesus which is the most important thing.   Ryan or "Cough" as we knew him was someone you couldn't help but like. He was ALWAYS smiling whenever you'd see him. He was respectful always calling me Mr Zanni no matter how many times I would tell him to call me Mike. I know my grandkids ABSOLUTELY ADORED Cough. No matter what he was doing or had to do he always had time to play with the kids and to tell you the truth I believe he enjoyed it more than the kids. I know that if anyone needed him for whatever reason he would drop everything he was doing to be by your side for whatever you needed. They say that everyone that God makes is unique. I know for sure that Ryan wasn't just unique in that he was different than other people but that he was truly unique as God only created one "Cough" and there will NEVER be another like him. I am thankful for having been blessed to be able to call him my friend. It was an honor to know that I was counted among his friends.  I wish to extend my condolences and sympathies to the Coughlin family. Please know that Ryan's passing leaves a hole in my heart that can never be repaired but will be filled with thoughts and memories of "Cough" until we all meet again at the table of Our Lord where Ryan is waiting for us to join him in His time.
