Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Caroline (Sassi) Caparco. She came to Rhode Island with her family when she was 7 years old.
Rose was very creative; when she was 12, she entered a drawing contest in school and won a scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design although she was unfortunately not able to attend.
At the young age of 14, she became a caregiver for her siblings and worked in her father’s bakery business, Tony’s Bakery. She remained a caregiver for most of her life.
She loved to sew and designed and made clothes for herself and her sisters.
Rose was a wonderful homemaker. She always cooked and baked to perfection. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
She was a strong woman that was loved by everyone who knew her.
She was the devoted mother of Joseph A. Cristi and his wife Virginia and Anita M. Cristi and her partner William B. Galletly; cherished grandmother of Anthony Cristi II and his wife Leah Cristi, Scott J. Cristi and his wife Jessica Cristi, and the late Cristi Rose Rao; loving great-grandmother of Kevin, Skylar, and Kamryn Rose Cristi; and adored sister of Joseph E. Caparco and the late Ernest Caparco, Vincent Caparco, Michael Caparco, Albert Caparco, Anthony Caparco, Mary Pascone, Anna Francazio, and Albertina Caparco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St, Providence. Burial will be private.
