Ronald R. Russo, 65, passed away December 26, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Lori (Capraro) Russo; loving father of Carissa Russo and Ronald Russo Jr., and brother in law of John Capraro and his wife Diane. He leaves many close friends and his beloved dog Feco.
Ron was born in Providence on January 8, 1956 to the late Raymond Russo and Philomena (Marro) Russo. Graduated from Smithfield High School. He owned and operated his own landscape and construction company from the age of 19, R. Russo Construction. He and Lori opened a jewelry shop, American Epoxy, in Providence in 1992 at the height of Rhode Island's costume jewelry boom.
An avid sports fan, he rooted for the Patriots, Giants, and his all time favorite New York Yankees. Never was he more conflicted than the two Super Bowl matchups between his two favorite teams.
Above all he was devoted to his family and friends. Loyalty is a quality that came naturally to him. He spent his life giving and was the true definition of “giving someone the shirt off your back”. If you were in trouble, in a jam, or just needed help he would drop everything and be there in a flash. It truly was his greatest quality. The word “No” didn’t exist in his vocabulary. No matter what or how he would figure out a way to solve any problem for anyone.
He was a rock to so many people and will be missed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6th 4:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence. Burial will be private.
