He was the beloved husband of Maria (Ferrucci) DiCenso for 62 years; devoted
father of David R. DiCenso and his wife, Gina; Anna Bertorelli and her husband,
Paul; Anthony L. DiCenso and his wife, Reneé; cherished and proud grandfather of
Michael, Marissa, Matthew, Christina, Mitchell, Alex and Leah; brother of Sofia
DiCenso and the late Luisa DiCenso.
An Italian immigrant, Romeo was a lifelong communicate and Eucharistic Minister
for St. Anthony Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He proudly
served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and worked as a
tool and die maker at Texas Instruments for 38 years.
Romeo was an avid gardener and automobile enthusiast – a true jack-of-alltrades.
His true passion in life, however, was caring and providing for his family.
The family would like to thank Because We Care for lovingly providing for Romeo
and making it possible for him to remain in his home.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
from the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413
Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by graveside burial with Military
Honors in the St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to St. Anthony Church, 5 Gibbs Street, North Providence, RI 02904.
