Roger Albert Hall departed on November15,2021 to our shock and dismay. Roger was born in Providence RI to Catherine MacMillan and Roger Lemay. He was the youngest of 12 siblings at birth, becoming a part of a colorful and capricious family who shaped the person he'd eventually become. It was here that Charles Adams became a Hall family member and remains so along with is son Charlie, his last remaining sibling. Olneyville was where Roger spent his formative years attending both public school and street school, later moving into manufacturing. It was during these early years that Roger began to explore the vibrant Providence culture scene; developing relationships with everyone involved; while honing his musical skills. It wasn't long before he was solidly embedded in the scene.
At age 30, Roger moved to CT, where he enjoyed the next 9 years in the peace and solitude of the deep woods with his partner Cynthia and their many animals. In no time new friendships and bonds with local musicians grew.
The year 2011 saw him return to Providence, where he enthusiastically lived as a hard worker, a caretaker, a devoted, talented musician, collector, an historian, a student of marshal arts and above all a friend who will never be forgotten by all that have met him and experienced the sublime pleasure of his "Infinite jest and most excellent fancy".
Rest in harmony dear man.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
