Robert E. McLaughlin, 75, passed away November 30, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Loffler) McLaughlin.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Catherine (Lapolla) McLaughlin. He was the loving father of Cynthia Fitzpatrick and Lisa McLaughlin; step-father of Dawn Caruso; brother of Ruth Buchignani and grandfather of Michael, Austin and Marisa Giard. He also leaves his beloved dog, Max.
Robert worked at UPS for 33 years before retiring and was a member of Teamsters, Local 251. Robert adored his wife, children and grandchildren and could always put a smile on your face. He loved and provided for his family, never failing them during a time of need. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially beach and park outings with his family. Robert was loved and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
His family would like to thank the staff at Hopkins Manor for their love and care for the past 3 years.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.stjude.org/donate
