Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Salvatore “Sal” and Hope (Mulligan) Lo Bello.
Robert attended St. Thomas Regional School and graduated from Our Lady of Providence High School. He spent a semester in London while attending Eckerd College in St. Petersburgh, FL. He earned his Master’s Degree in Special Education from Simmons College.
He taught at the Jordan Jackson Elementary School in Mansfield, MA for over 20 years.
In addition to his love of teaching, he had many other interests, but he especially loved traveling. He and Sen were lucky enough to have been able to visit Italy, Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland, and numerous other sites.
Robert had a great love of the arts, especially theater, which he and Sen were able to enjoy together.
He was the loving brother of John J. Lo Bello Sr. (Sandra), Richard D. Lo Bello (Jennifer), and Joanne Lo Bello; cherished uncle of Victoria, Sarah, Lauren (Jacob), and the late Johnny Lo Bello Jr.; and great-uncle of Vivienne.
He was known to be a legendary uncle and godfather to his many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
As a passionate dog lover, Rob considered his beagles, Hilde and Bridget Jones, members of his family.
His visitation will be held Monday, March 27th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday March 28th at 11:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
