ProvidenceHeffernan, Robert P. "Bob", 59, of Hillside Avenue, died Monday morning at home. He was a long-time friend of Richard W. Lassor. Born in Providence, a son of the late Vincent Heffernan and Hattie R. (Rivers) Lyons, he was a lifelong resident of Providence. Bob taught Geography, as well as several other subjects, at the Goff Junior High School, in Pawtucket, for twenty-nine years before retiring in 1999. He then joined the staff of the East Side/ Mount Hope Y.M.C.A. where he worked for several years. He was a brother of the late Vincent Heffernan. The funeral and burial will be private.
