Robert “Bob” J. Farley, 79, of Greenville died Thursday at West Shore Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine D. (Desjardins) Farley. They were married for 45 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond V. and Mary A. (Collins) Farley, Sr.
Bob received his Bachelor's Degree from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC and his Master's from Providence College. He worked as a teacher for 38 years, beginning his career at North Providence High School, teaching Business and English. He later worked as a guidance counselor at Birchwood Middle School. Bob was also a member and former Vice President of the American Federation of Teachers. He was a faithful communicant of St. Phillip Church.
In addition to his wife Elaine, he leaves a son Kevin M. Farley and his wife Nicole Fusco of Warwick, a daughter, Lauren M. Farley and her husband Benjamin Javery of Edgewood, and a sister Eleanor M. Kubicek of Chesapeake Virginia.
Bob was brother of the late Raymond V. Farley Jr.
The funeral will begin on Tuesday, February 28 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
