Rita M Mcsweeney

Born and raised in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Brayman) Faubert.

Together, Rita and Gene raised their family in Cranston, Rhode Island before retiring in Sarasota, Florida. She was a longtime employee of the State of Rhode Island: Department of Human Services.

She leaves two daughters, Barbara McSweeney and Gail (McSweeney) Newton, their husbands Rufus Yerxa and the Rev. Alan Newton; sister Georgianna Picard; four grandchildren, Melissa and David Banigan, Gavin and Haley Yerxa; four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Carole (McSweeney) White; sister Dorothy Martin, and brother, Edward Faubert.

The family will have a private celebration of her life, followed by interment at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
