Richard R. Ruggiero

Richard R. Ruggiero, 71, passed away October 23, 2017. He was the husband of the late Janice M. Ruggiero. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Carmine and Celia (Mastantuono) Ruggiero. He was the father of Richard R. Ruggiero and his wife Lisa of Cranston, and Dr. David M. Ruggiero and his wife Lauren of Johnston; grandfather of Ryan R., Daniel J., and Andrew C. Ruggiero; and brother of Carl Ruggiero.

Richard was always known to enjoy the great outdoors and his weekly coffee catch-ups at Brewed Awakenings with those who know him best. A former worker for the state board of elections, Richard’s unique and quick wit will be truly missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout this life.

Visitation will be held Friday, 5-7 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope & Faith Drive LLC at 18 Intervale Avenue, East Providence RI 02914.
