CRANSTON - Malachowski, Paul S., 91, of Knollwood Ave, died Thursday at Scandinavian Home. He was the beloved husband of A. Barbara (Alukonis) Malachowski.Born in Chelsea, Ma, he was the son of the late Stanley and Beatrice (Czarnota) Malachowski.Paul was a postal carrier for the US Postal System for 33 years retiring in 1977. He was a World War II decorated Army Medic who served with the First Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division during the first wave at Omaha Beach, Normandy. He received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Unit Badge.He was a member of the 29th Division Association, New England Post # 93. He was a member of the Dillon Council, Knights of Columbus #3563.Besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters, Barbara R. Brousseau and her husband Robert of North Kingstown, Jane M. Scivola of West Warwick and Marie E. Cannon of Quincy, Ma, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John F, Mitchell A. and Stanley J. Malachowski, Lucy J. Galla and Isabel C. Ellis.His funeral and visitation will be Monday at 8:15am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in the Church of St. Mark, Garden City, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in his memory would be appreciated.
