Patricia Rose Kiernan

Patricia R. ( Masterson )Kiernan, 82, formerly of Stoney Acre Drive, Cranston, passed away at Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown on Monday October 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond E. Kiernan, they were married for 60 years.

Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose ( Reynolds ) Masterson.

Patricia worked for Providence Gas Company for 25 years retiring in 1998. She was instrumental in ratifying the 1st union contract and served as President of the United Steelworker’s Union.

Pat was blessed with the gifts of faith, love, courage and laughter which she shared with family and friends throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her children, Maureen P. Melfi and her husband Robert, of Cranston; John J. Kiernan and his wife Rachel, of Lincoln; Peter F. Kiernan and his wife Alison, also of Cranston; Raymond E. Kiernan, Jr. and his wife Wendy, of Warwick; five loving grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Bennett, Nolan and Haley  Kiernan and Ana Melfi. Her siblings Peter Masterson of North Providence and Thomas Masterson of Florida.

Patricia was the sister of the late Hubert, John and James Masterson, Maureen Wolfer, Helena Potter and Ann Holt.

Funeral will be Friday October 8, 2021 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. 

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Scalabrini Villa Nursing Center, 860 North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
