

Paride “Pat” Luigi Autiello, 86, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Rosemarie (Vallese) Autiello for 58 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Antonette (Calvino) Autiello. He is survived by his loving children, Stephen Autiello and his wife Robyn, Paul Autiello and his wife Brenda, Cathy Martone and her husband Kenneth, and Daniel Autiello and his wife Lisa; his cherished grandchildren, Councilman Dino Autiello and fiancé Shana Mancinho, Mario Martone, Esquire, Danielle (Autiello) and husband, Nicholas Guadagno, Kenneth Martone, CPA and his wife Alyson, Cory and Samantha Martone, and Cassandra, Daniel, Zachary, and Gabriella Autiello all of whom he loved more than life itself.
He is also survived by his beloved niece Mary Ann Sorrentino and was the son-in-law of the late Virginia (D’Ambra) Vallese.
He and his late brother Alfonso Autiello opened Al and Pat’s Shell Gas Station on Cranston Street at the site of what is now the Central High School Athletic Field. He was the President of Four A’s Enterprises, which operated both City Auto Body and Gulf Travel Center in downtown Providence, until his retirement in 2004. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Metacomet Country Club. He was a member of the Providence Businessmen’s Association of the YMCA until its closing and then was a member of the Jewish Community Center, where he created many long lasting friendships. He and his wife Rosemarie wintered in West Palm Beach, FL. As a proud father and grandfather Pat and Rosemarie travelled the country to attend the sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren. He was their biggest fan. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and friend who was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Edward Food and Wellness Center, 997 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02904.
