Orlando A. Brito, 73, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.Born in Cape Verde Island, he was the son of the late Bernardo A. and Benvinda Deus Almada Brito.Mr. Brito was employed as a kitchen aide for the Westin/Omni Hotel for the past 15 years. He also served in the Cape Verde Armed Forces. Orlando also served as a Police Officer in Luanda, Angola for several years.He leaves his children, Jose V. Brito, Felisberto V. Brito, Hermenegildo V. Brito, Frederico V. Brito, Maria I. GonA�alves and Ivone B. Dos Santos; eight grandchildren, Enrico GonA�alves, Jr., Elton GonA�alves , Melane GonA�alves, Maxwell Brito, Nazaiah Brito, Gisselle Brito, Marcel Dos Santos, and Jayden Brito; three brothers, Guilhermo Freitas, of Cranston, Jose Luis Feitas, of Pawtucket, and Manuel Almada Freitas, of Florida; and sisters, Maria Freitas, of Portugal, Maria GonA�alves , Izilda Daveiga, and Etalvina Gomes, all of Providence, Alice Freitas and Maria Jose Freitas, both of France, Anilda Freitas, and Maria Odete Freitas, both of Switzerland. He was the father of the late Euclides V. Brito and brother of the late JoA�o Pedro Almada Brito, Octavio Almada Freitas, Olivio Almada, Ana Almada Brito, and Luisa Freitas.Orlando's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Route 117 - Exit 10 off I-95). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence.
