Michael T. Fitzpatrick

He was the beloved husband of Joyce S. (Cleland) Fitzpatrick for 47 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Zita M. (Cawthorne) Fitzpatrick.

Michael had worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. and The Home Depot for many years before retiring and moving to Georgia. Michael was a loyal and compassionate man with the biggest heart. His greatest joys were times spent with his dogs and his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa J. Stroupe and her husband Justin R., his cherished grandchildren, Gabrielle F. Stroupe and Justin R. Stroupe Jr. and his siblings, Edward J. Fitzpatrick and Helen M. Maguire. He was the brother of the late Arthur E. and Paul D. Fitzpatrick and uncle to 14 nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. with his funeral service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of New England, PO Box 22471, New York, NY 10087.
